Vision Statement
Whether human-made or naturally occurring, our environment is degrading at an accelerating rate.
Overwhelming evidence shows that human action can mitigate this environmental damage.
We protect, repair and replenish our environment,
including air, water and soil.
Mission Statement
On a community level, we adopt, develop and deploy "low tech" solutions to protect and improve our environment.
Work Plan
Establishing Entity
We incorporated as a Washington State nonprofit in June 2020.
During 2021, we intend to:
- Apply for 501(c) 3 status.
- "Complete" our website.
Ongoing Work
We have purchased a Ring Of Fire kiln and have established collaborative agreements to work on 4 parcels of land this season (and beyond).
During 2021, we intend to:
- "Complete" clearing Scotch Broom and Himalayan blackberries (invasives) from 2 properties.
- Plant trees/shrubs on 2 properties.
- Produce charcoal/biochar on 3 properties.
- Complete rainwater capture system and aerated compost system on a property.
- Retrieve and repurpose lumber from demolition site.
- We are also collaborating with Vashon Tool Library to establish a WorkerSpace.
